One Off Harmony Kingdom Prototype Solid Hippo Figurine Peter Calvesbert Signed Dated

Prior to casting box figurines, Master Carver Peter Calvesbert creates several solid, prototype versions to test color variations - this is the only one of the pink and tan variation.

Back story of the Hippolotovus Treasure Jest: Pete was inspired to create this tongue in cheek box figurine upon hearing about how hippos are experiencing an accidental population explosion in South America.

Pablo Escobar imported hippos from Africa to include in his private zoo. After his death, they were released into the wild and, having no predators, flourished in the South American jungle and the rise of the so-called ‘cocaine hippos’ began. In this piece the hippos are also having the last laugh enjoying the fruits of Mr Escobar’s ‘labor’. Carved around the lid are some secrets, explained in the story card enclosed with each piece.
